ADC’s programming and web development team members are passionate about their work, which propels ADC to be on the leading-edge of industry trends and technologies.
They’ve helped ADC to successfully bridge the gap between the web and GIS, allowing us to offer products and services that combine the two, as well as services focused solely on programming.
Using the Agile approach to development, with an iterative "evolving milestone" process, we reduce development time and deliver better products. Even if your projects have little or no specifications (or specifications that may change), our process will lead to the best possible results.
Tools and technology we employ includes:
The simplified delivery and presentation of the large volumes of information in today’s world is generally the result of linking together disparate and often physically remote information sources or collections. In short, there was a lot of previous work and a lot happening behind the scenes when you run your web map searches, whether it be in Google Maps or in one of the ADC WebGUIDE sites.
GIS, as a software system, is a natural integrator of information as maps are the perfect vehicle for simultaneously displaying different, yet related pieces of information. When a land parcel is displayed on a map, for example, we can also display ownership, taxation and permit information, in addition to other characteristics of the property, such as infrastructure details like electrical and water supply line details. Since this information is generally created and maintained by different departments or organizations, steps must be taken to ‘connect’ all these information sources.
ADC GIS Consultants and Application Developers have a long history of devising logical and appropriate strategies for integrating the systems of information that form success geospatial applications. Whether it at a large scale (US Army Corps of Engineers, InfoGroup) or small (WI county government), ADC staff has the technical knowledge and proven experience to combine your rich collections of information in single, cohesive mapping solutions.
Technologically sound asset management is critical to peak municipal and business performance. ADC is experienced in implementing GIS based asset management systems for both the public and private sector. These include using GIS to visualize and manage municipal infrastructure such as road and wastewater networks, facilities, signage, meters, and more. Asset management can save money and time in daily operations.
Routing and Logistics
ADC’s routing and logistics’ solutions can help you save up to 30 percent in operational expenses through reductions in mileage, overtime, and routing time. Additionally, mileage savings translate into reduced fuel use and a smaller carbon footprint, which will help make your business “green.”
ADC has successfully provided customized routing and tracking solutions for the delivery of phone books, green house flowers and automotive parts’ deliveries.
Our Elite EXTRA (Extreme Routing and Tracking Application) product has received national attention from industry leaders in the automotive industry because it is lightweight yet robust, cost-effective and easy-to-use for dispatchers, managers and drivers.
Mobile Application Development
With mobile technology taking center stage in today’s world, organizations are keen on making significant advancements in the mobile space and ADC is helping with its innovative applications.
ADC offers mobile application solutions that help organizations to communicate with their customers through custom mobile devices. Leveraging our industry intelligence and technological background, we design and build mobile applications that are customer-friendly and facilitate easy and quick data processing.
We have developed customized iPhone-based mobile applications, Java-based mobile applications and Windows-based mobile application solutions, to name a few.
Open source geoweb implementation is a specialty of ADC. Open source software provides the option of customization for our needs and, because it is freely available, we are able to offer many of our geoweb services to clients at a much lower price point than the competition.
Today’s global marketplace resides on the web and ADC can help you participate. Since the introduction of our extremely successful WebGUIDE tool in 2001, ADC has been increasingly active in developing geoweb applications. By combining the talent of our GIS technicians, software engineers, and web developers, we have created award winning geoweb applications.
Data is at the core of today’s information-rich digital world. The situation is no different in the world of geographic information. Behind all the mapping information that is proliferated on the Web and via other sharing means, there exists vast sets of GIS data, or geodata. This geodata must be compiled, transformed and stored in such a way to allow streamlined and efficient access to what is generally a complex informational model.
ADC combines its almost 15 years of experience with GIS data modeling and administration, along with its foundation in database management and application development techniques to provide sound, yet advanced services for designing and implementing your GIS data storage platform.
We have years of experience in migration planning and execution as software platforms and dataformats continue to evolve. Importance is placed on maintaining data quality and integrity as the migration is performed. Planning to switch platforms or implement a major software upgrade? Contact us today for a complimentary migration needs assessment!
ArcGIS Server Implementation
ADC’s application developers use ArcGIS Server to build responsive, easy-to-use applications that leverage common web technologies. ArcGIS Server provides an open set of APIs, which allow developers to consume services published by ArcGIS Server.
ArcGIS Server reduces software deployment costs for our customers and disseminates geographic knowledge to improve decision making. It helps standardize geographic processing techniques and workflow scenarios, reduce software deployment costs, and ease implementation burdens. The fully integrated framework of ArcGIS means that ArcGIS Server allows our GIS professionals to improve project collaboration and quality at every step, from project prototype to completion.
From small communities to large jurisdictions and from federal agencies to international corporations, we’ve used ArcGIS to build custom management systems that help customers of all sizes and jurisdictions streamline their workflows.
